say goodbye to the city

[This might not last longer than one post, but it's nice to dust off this site every now and again...]

Today I move back to Perth, after two and a bit years in Brisbane (of which some of that time was, yes, spent in Perth, as well as travelling around the world). As would be expected, whole mix of emotions that I cannot put into words - so, to avoid that, here are 18 songs that are my 13 July 2010. Some of them are directly related to going home, others not particularly. They are all songs that I like though (and the usual traits - over-the-top string arrangements, jangly guitars, big choruses - are well-represented). Obviously, these songs can't present everything being thought of today, not without the list being a whole lot longer, and looking for significance in choices is unlikely to be rewarding. At least one of these songs is apocalyptic, one is from a children's picture book, one is ridiculously obvious for anything at least tangentially-related to Brisbane/Queensland (sorry), and others just happen to have keywords in their titles. I hope, if you choose to listen, that you enjoy it! Wherever you may be in the world, hopefully see you soon.
